Saltbush 2014 to kick off at the Whyalla Wetlands

Tuesday, 11 March 2014

Welcome to another season of Saltbush Orienteering.

Our season kicks off this year on Sunday March 16th with a street event at the Whyalla Wetlands car park just off  the Lincoln Highway; just look for the big orange/white 'O' van. Start times for the event are between 10am and 1pm with all entrants to be back to the start area by 3pm. Come out for a walk or run and if you feel inclined bring the pooch out for a stroll as well!

There will be four courses on offer to suit everybody which include a long 6km course, a medium 4.5km course & short 3km course. A 1.5km course based solely within the Wetlands grounds is ideal for the kids or those who want to try out orienteering for the first time. Coaching & assistance is available at the start area.

Please ensure you wear good walking/running shoes, a hat, sunscreen and bring plenty of water to drink.

Public BBQ's are available for a BYO lunch so why not bring a chair & a beverage to hang around after your event for a chat and watch the other entrants return.

Chris & Ann study their map at last year's Wetlands event.

The ever popular Ada Ryan Gardens Street Event will be held on Sunday March 30th. Please keep an eye on our events calendar for updates on this event & others to be held throughout the year.
