WIRRABARA ORIENTEERING CARNIVAL
13th October 2007
Near perfect conditions (cool but ideal for slogging up hills) met the 25 entrants in the Wirrabara MTBO. It was good to see not only some predominantly foot Oers out but also some MTBO debutants. All riders had challenges but some long legs in the steeper country particularly tested course 1 and 2 entrants. The results largely speak for themselves but special mention should be made of John Gordon, who entertained us by crashing on the final bend, John Williams, who set out with a dodgy inner tube and returned with one crank having freed itself from the rest of the bike, and Carolyn Strong who not only assisted with registration and won her course but also supplied the après ride muffins.
Thanks to all those who helped with the event and best wishes to Anthea Williams for a speedy recovery.
Course 1 (20+ kms)
Course 2 (15kms)
